Music Enrichment Services

JOIN THE CHOIR! We are looking for more choir members to fill our choir loft.  We rehearse in the music room at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings.
This is a small, friendly, group that loves to sing!  We sing four part (SATB)harmonies and we enjoy singing many styles of sacred music.
We also rehearse on Sunday mornings at 10:30 and sing for the 11:00 a.m. Traditional Service each Sunday.  If you are interested in singing solos, we also welcome special music groups/singers who love to share their talent.  Contact Jill at JHec99@cfl.rr.com

A dramatic musical presentation for Lent, with an Easter finale, (created by Mark Hayes, Jim Custer and Bob Hoose), was presented on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of St. Stephen Presbyterian church 8601 Lake Underhill Road Orlando, Florida, where the Rev. Dr. Tom Evans serves as pastor.
The striking musical, "For Such a One as This," was  directed by Jill Ann Heckert. Those who experienced this riveting worship experience  reviewed events of the passion of Christ as seen through the eyes of some of Christ's disciples.  The monologues included Mary Magdalene; Mary, the mother of Jesus (Georgia Rife); Pontius Pilate; and Simon of Cyrene, (Tony Awtrey).
Each character had a filmed monologue interspersed with original choral pieces by Hayes, and beloved hymn settings. This work was  performed in a multi-media setting with minimal props, costuming & stage requirements, yet the presentation had a theatrical impact with a three-dimensional effect through on-screen monologues;  while live actors pantomimed scenes. Other special features included an elementary girls' ensemble, a crowd scene and wonderful choral arrangements.
